Jumping - Inverts

Once you have jumping all sorted, its time to build into something that looks great whilst also providing stability in the air.

Start with the basics of jumping, namely

  • pull elbows to hips

  • lift board to elbows

The easiest first progression is the invert - basically turning upside down during the jump. This sounds scary at first, but actually provides more stability than most moves.

  1. Follow the normal steps to do a jump

  2. Shortly after takeoff, after pulling elbows to hips, lean back and try to place your board next to the lines above you.

  3. After reaching the apex of your jump, pull on the bar in the direction of landing. About halfway down, bring your legs back down.

  4. Land and cheer !
